My Blog - The First Installment

Posted on Wednesday, August 28, 2013

Welcome to the first installment of my blog. This is new territory for me so I hope you find it both interesting and maybe even useful.

I want to start off by saying that I’m really excited about the launch of our new-look website. Hopefully you the user will find it much easier to search for properties to buy or rent in all our areas including Finchley, Hendon and Mill Hill.

Maybe you’ll also learn something new about Squires Estates for example the fact that aside from the Estate Agency side of things we take part in a volunteering programme whereby we take an afternoon out of the working week and help out with a local community project. Currently we are working up at Belmont Farm in Mill Hill which gives people in North London the opportunity to interact with a wide range of animals.

This year has been a fantastic year for our Estate Agency where we have exceeded all expectations and evolved in many ways as a company (I will go into this more in my next installment).

The Residential Sales market in Finchley, Hendon, Mill Hill and surrounding areas has been phenomenal with the sort of price increases not seen since 2007 and the Residential Lettings market has remained consistently strong throughout 2013.

The number of available properties for sale has been relatively low and with the wealth of good schools in Finchley, Hendon and Mill Hill and low interest rates to boot this has driven the price rises we have seen.

One reason for the low stock levels can be attributed to the number of people improving their existing properties.

You only need to drive down any road in North London and see the amount of houses with scaffolding outside or a cement mixer in the front garden!

We at Squires Estates are always happy to advise what improvements can be made to best improve the value of your property whether the intention is to stay put or sell or let in the near future.

With September fast approaching our Hendon branch has been inundated with students desperately looking for a property to secure for the new term.

If you own a property in Hendon or close by which you feel could be suitable please contact us without delay and see if we can help.

With our full Property Management service you might find we can make the process less stressful than you would otherwise think.

Have a good week until the next time…..

Edward, Director of Squires Estates
